Finished animatic

Final animatic

My animatic is all done now. Hurray! I cleaned up the lines and fixed up the timing issues.


Now I get to do the rough comps for it and I need to write a proposal to get sound for it.

Demo Reel

This is my Demo Reel for 2011. It is for my portfolio class but also for myself since..well demo reels are important. : ) There is still some older work in it. I hope to do some little animation things for myself over winter break so hopefully I can get more recent work in my next one.

Gestures

I'm trying to get back into doing gesture drawing and I plan to do more of it during the summer when finals aren't drowning me.

Here are some that I did the other day though.

The first two pages with the first 3 on the second page are 60 second gestures. The rest are 30 second gestures

So this isn't exactly animation..though I wanted it to be like stop motiony. Either way I'm actually pretty happy with this project I did for Art and Tech

Backgrounds

There are just some of the backgrounds for my thesis. I colored them in Photoshop and I sort of guessed at the additional pixels that needed to be added on so that when zooming in in Harmony won't cause it to blow up.

I still have around six left to do which I plan to finish this weekend.

The ones that have sky in them look plain because I plan to animate clouds just to give it a little more dynamic.

Thesis Characters

So finally I'm getting around to putting up those drawings I was talking about. These aren't all of the ones I want to put up but I need to scan the other doodles I've done. These drawings are the characters for my thesis. I still need to do their turn arounds and do the drawings for the toys not in the imagination realm.

Alright so as promised here are some of my animations.

This was an animation for animation 2 where a character needed to read a letter and react to it in some way. I chose to use my character Pitch.

This next one was supposed to be just a looped emotion walk cycle. However, I was sick and got a bit confused about the assignment so I ended up doing a longer animation. At the time I did this I was also participating in NaNoWriMo so I used my character Rais from my story. He's a thief but he's not horribly great at it.

And finally is my in progress thesis. The video is just my storyboards. It isn't as rough anymore and the timing issues are fixed but I haven't exported the most recent video yet.

And that's about it. I'll upload some character sketches here soon. I'll also get some screenshots of what my animatic looks like at the moment as well.

First Entry

So for this blog I plan to put up a lot of my in progress thesis things. Mostly stills and maybe a few videos.

I also plan to put up some of my animations from last semester just as soon as I upload them on vimeo.

Other things I'll upload will be characters or any other projects that I'm very interested in showing.
